Installing Aluminum Pulley

NOTE: Dirt and contamination
  • Risk of damage to units or components

→ Protect components from dirt and contamination.

→ Clean or replace dirty components.

NOTE: Incorrect tool
  • Risk of damage to components

→ Use prescribed tool.

  1. Install aluminum pulley.
    1. 1.1. Use a new bolt and a new pulley.
    2. 1.2. Fit pulley and friction plate on the crankshaft flange. Check installation position of the dowel pin.
    3. 1.3. Fit and tighten a new M14 x 1.5 hexagon-head bolt.
    4. 1.4. Position the counter-hold tool -1-  on the pulley -arrows-  and hold it.

    5. 1.5. Tighten the screw -1-  and get a second person to hold the counter-hold tool -2-  .

      Get another person to help you do this because of the high tightening forces required  .

      → Tightening torque: 170 Nm (126 ftlb.)

  2. Fit and tighten the bottom M10 fastening screws on the engine carrier.

    → Tightening torque: 65 Nm (48 ftlb.)
