Removing Vibration Damper

Vibration damper -5-  in belt drive

  1. Position vibration damper ready to fix in place.
    1. 1.1. Position vibration damper -1-  using special tool barring gear 9773 -3-  (turn clockwise) so that a staking bore is aligned with the bore in the crankcase.
    2. 1.2. Fix vibration damper in place with one of the locating pins 9595/1 -4-  .
    3. 1.3. Only slightly loosen six M8 x 1 x 25 outer Torx screws (fine thread) -2-  .

  2. Slacken the drive belt.

    → 137819 REMOVING AND INSTALLING DRIVE BELT .

  3. Remove vibration damper.
    1. 3.1. Unscrew six external Torx screws (M8 x 1 x 25, fine thread) and remove the vibration damper.
    2. 3.2. Check dowel pin and vibration damper for damage (e.g. cracks, deformation) and replace components if necessary.
    3. 3.3. Replace screws.
