Checking Control Boxes For Exhaust Flaps

→ Let hot components cool down.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

  1. Perform the exhaust flap function test in two stages.
    1. Manual test: 
  2. Check linkage on the control box by sliding it to and fro -direction of arrow-  to see if it moves smoothly.

    Information 

    A second person will be required to assist during the electronic test.

    1. 2. Electronic test: 
  3. Allow engine to run at idle speed.
  4. Raise the vehicle.
  5. Press the Sport mode button  several times on the center console in the passenger compartment. This activates or deactivates the flap function.
    1. 5.1. At the same time, a second person visually inspects the mechanical motion of both linkages and the change in exhaust noise.
