Removing Tailpipe Cover

Information
- If twin-tailpipe covers are installed (sports exhaust system, I-no. 176), the cheese head bolt (hexagon socket) on the cast aluminum cover must not be loosened.

- Spray threaded connection and sliding base with anti-rust agent before removing tailpipe cover.CAUTION: Hot components

→ Let hot components cool down.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
Information
- Replace the ball clamp on the tailpipe cover whenever it is opened.
- When removing the tailpipe cover for the first time, remove the spotweld on the original clamp and fit a new clamp on the tailpipe cover (do not weld it).
- Unscrew the fastening screw -2- on the ball clamp.
- Open up the ball clamp and pull the tailpipe cover -1- off the tailpipe.
- Remove spotweld on the clamp and replace the clamp.
