Replacing Threaded Bolts

Information 

  1. Pre-treat threaded pin with anti-rust agent.
  2. Use Dilavar Stud Removal Tool Nr.75  to unscrew the threaded pin on the silencer -1-  .
    1. 2.1. Position removal tool -2-  on the threaded pin and tighten by turning it clockwise at the small hexagon.
    2. 2.2. Slowly unscrew the threaded pin by turning it anti-clockwise at the large hexagon.

  3. Fit new M8 threaded pin with the short threaded side in the silencer.
    1. Threaded pin, dimension X = 22 mm  , short threaded side in the silencer

  4. Fit threaded bolt.
    1. 4.1. Screw on two M8 lock nuts -1-  and tighten them against each other.
    2. 4.2. Tighten threaded bolt.

      → Tightening torque: 22 Nm (16 ft. lb.)

      Procedure for broken threaded pins that cannot be removed using the removal tool: 

  5. Carefully drill out broken threaded pins and re-cut the thread if necessary.
    1. 5.1. Fit the new threaded pin as described above.
