Installing Front Silencer

  1. Grease sliding bases and screw thread lightly with Optimoly HT high-temperature grease (Part No. 999.917.728.00).
  2. Swivel front silencer -1-  in sideways.

  3. Slide pipe adapter with new seals -2-  onto the rear silencer.

  4. Fit sealing ring on exhaust manifold and tighten M8 cheese head bolt at the clamp -1-  .

  5. Fit and tighten two new M8 lock nuts -3-  on the front silencer holder -2-  .

    → Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ft. lb.)

  6. Align clamp on the exhaust manifold and tighten M8 cheese head bolt.

    → Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ft. lb.) 

  7. Fit and tighten new lock nuts -1-  at the joint between the front silencer and rear silencer.

    → Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ft. lb.)
