Removing Exhaust Manifold With Catalytic Converter

  1. Exhaust manifold with catalytic converter, side 4-6
    1. 1A  - Exhaust manifold with catalytic converter, side 1-3
  2. Metal seal
  3. Oxygen sensors
  4. Fastening screw (external Torx screw E12), M8 x 21
  5. Metal seal for three-hole flange
  1. Remove oxygen sensors upstream of catalytic converter.
    1. 1.1. Unclip oxygen sensor cable and unscrew oxygen sensor.
  2. Unscrew nine external Torx screws (E12, M8 x 21) -2-  .

  3. Remove the exhaust manifold by pressing the front silencer -2-  towards the rear with a mounting lever -1-  with the help of another person -arrow-  .

    1. 3.1. Make sure that the oxygen sensor cable is not too tight.
    2. 3.2. Remove and dispose of metal seal. Replace seal.
  4. Fix the exhaust manifold in place on the rear silencer holder -1-  using a tie-wrap -arrow-  .
