Removing Heat Shield On Cylinder Bank 1-3

Information 

Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:

  1. Loosen intake air line at the turbocharger.
    1. 1.1. Unscrew two external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 30) -2-  , remove cover -1-  and pull off the cable plug on the electronic adjuster.

    2. 1.2. Pull intake air line out of the turbocharger. Check O-ring and replace it if necessary.
  2. Unscrew two fastening screws (E10, M6 x 12) -1-  .

    Tool recommendation: Ratchet wrench, a/f 8 with E10 insert from tool set insert for torque wrench 9792 

    1. 2.1. Unclip electric line -2-  for exhaust temperature sensor at the heat shield.

  3. Pull heat shield out in direction of travel.
