Removing Exhaust Manifold With Catalytic Converter

Overview of exhaust manifold components with catalytic converter

  1. Exhaust manifold with catalytic converter
  2. Metal seal, always replace
  3. Oxygen sensor downstream of catalytic converter
  4. Oxygen sensor upstream of catalytic converter

  1. Loosen clamp for silencer.
    1. 1.1. Unscrew M8 cheese head bolt and open the clamp.
    2. 1.2. Replace sealing ring.

  2. Unscrew nine hexagon-head bolts (M8 x 28) -2-  and remove exhaust manifold -1-  and seal.

  3. Check bolt thread for damage and corrosion and replace if necessary.
