Checking Pentosin Hydraulic Fluid In Engine Compartment - As Of MY 2010

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2013 Porsche 911, 2012 Porsche 911, 2011 Porsche 911, 2010 Porsche 911, and 2009 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Check the fluid level (Pentosin) with the engine switched off and cold (approx. 20 °C).

  1. Start the engine and leave it running at 2000 rpm for approx. 20 seconds (the pressure accumulator is not filled completely at idle speed).

    Switch off the engine.

  2. Open engine cover. Open reservoir cap.

  3. Wipe off the dipstick. Close the cap and then open it again. The fluid level should be between the MIN and MAX markings. Top up with Pentosin if necessary.

If the fluid level has dropped, carry out the following tests:

    • Check the fluid level in the luggage compartment. If the reservoir has overflowed, the clutch slave cylinder is defective and must be replaced.
    • Check the pressure accumulator. → 300101 CHECKING CLUTCH BOOSTER CIRCUIT
    • Visually check to see if Pentosin is lost at the clutch slave cylinder and steering.
  4. Close the cap carefully.
