Removing Right Radiator

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2013 Porsche 911, 2012 Porsche 911, 2011 Porsche 911, 2010 Porsche 911, and 2009 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Remove transverse strut.

    Unscrew two M6 hexagon-head bolts -2-  and remove the transverse strut -1-  .

  2. Remove control unit and disconnect electric fan.
    1. 2.1. Unscrew M6 external Torx screw (E10) -2-  .
    2. 2.2. Move control unit -1-  and holder into position.
    3. 2.3. Release and disconnect cable plug -3-  for fan motor.

    WARNING: Hot fluid
    • Danger of scalding

    → Let the fluid cool down.

    → Wear personal protective gear.

  3. Disconnect coolant hoses.

    Release spring clamps -arrows-  at the Henn couplings and pull off coolant hoses -1-  .

    Make sure that the spring clamps -arrows-  are not overstretched.

  4. Remove right radiator module.
    1. 4.1. Unscrew two M8 collar nuts -1-  .
    2. 4.2. Disconnect plug-in coupling -2-  by pressing the locking lugs and pull off the vent line.
    3. 4.3. Unscrew two hexagon-head bolts (M8 x 25) -3-  and remove the left radiator module.

    Information 

    Despite the fact that the coolant has been drained, residual amounts of coolant can still emerge at the joints during removal. Have sufficient collecting containers and cloths to hand.

  5. Remove the cooling fan housing.
    1. 5.1. Loosen the hose holder.

      Unscrew external Torx screw (E10, M6 x 16) -arrow  on the hose holder.

    2. 5.2. Disconnect both coolant hoses from the connection pieces at the radiator.

      Loosen the spring band clamps -arrows-  and pull the coolant hoses off the connection pieces.

    3. 5.3. Unclip sheetmetal clips.

    4. 5.4. Remove the cooling fan housing.
      1. 5.4.1. Unscrew two M6 hexagon-head tapping screws -1-  .
      2. 5.4.2. Remove the cooling fan housing and rear air guide from the tabs on the side radiator -2-  .
