Installing Coolant Reservoir

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2013 Porsche 911, 2012 Porsche 911, 2011 Porsche 911, 2010 Porsche 911, and 2009 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the reservoir.
    1. 1.1. Guide the reservoir diagonally backwards into the engine compartment. Press the intake air line aside.
    2. 1.2. Slide the reservoir into the holder.
    3. 1.3. Fit and tighten the M6 collar nut on the reservoir.

      → Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.) 

  2. Install engine coolant level sensor -2-  .

    1. 2.1. Guide the sensor into the reservoir and turn it 90° clockwise (bayonet lock).
    2. 2.2. Connect cable plug.

    Information 

    • Grease O-rings, hoses and lines in the cooling system with Kluberplus Gel (Part No. 000.043.205.93). 
  3. Install coolant hoses.
    1. 3.1. Coat hoses, O-rings and connections with Kluberplus Gel (see INFORMATION ).
    2. 3.2. Fit the coolant hose -1-  for the thermostat housing and secure with spring band clamps.

  4. Fit coolant hoses.
    1. 4.1. Fit the coolant hose -6-  on the reservoir and clip it into the bracket.
    2. 4.2. Fit the coolant bleeder hose -2-  and secure with spring band clamps.
    3. 4.3. Connect the coolant hose -3-  to the coolant pipe and secure with the spring clamps on the Henn couplings -5-  . Press the intake air line aside.

      The Henn coupling must lock with an audible click. 

      1. 4.3.1. Fit the coolant hose on the thermostat housing and secure with a spring band clamp -4-  .

    WARNING: Highly inflammable or explosive materials
    • Danger of fire or explosion

    → Avoid contact with hot parts or sources of ignition.

    → Use suction to remove ignitable vapors.

    → Attach warning sign in a clearly visible position.

  5. Connect the fuel line -2-  .
    1. 5.1. Clip the fuel line into the holder -3-  on the coolant reservoir.
    2. 5.2. Connect the fuel pressure line (low-pressure) to the plug-in coupling.

      The plug-in coupling must lock with an audible click.
