Draining Coolant

Hot fluid

→ Let the fluid cool down.
→ Wear personal protective gear.

Caustic fluids
- Danger of chemical burns
→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.
→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
- Open the cap -1- on the expansion tank and remove it.
- Unscrew coolant drain plugs (hexagon socket).
- 2.1. Unscrew the drain plug (hexagon socket) on the coolant guide tube -1- .
- 2.2. Unscrew the drain plug on the thermostat housing -1- .
- Collect emerging coolant.
- 3.1. To do this, secure a pan -2- on a transmission jack and position it under the drain positions.
- After draining the coolant, screw in and tighten drain plugs with new sealing rings.
→ Tightening torque: 25 Nm (19 ft. lb.)
