Checking For Coolant Leaks

WARNING: Caustic fluids
  • Danger of chemical burns

→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.

→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.

WARNING: Hot fluid
  • Danger of scalding

→ Let the fluid cool down.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

  1. Check the cooling system for leaks.
    1. 1.1. Connect a cooling system tester Cooling System Tester WE 1069  to the coolant expansion tank.

    2. 1.2. Produce a test pressure of 1.8 bar absolute using a pump.
    3. 1.3. Visually check all hose and line connections for leaks.
  2. Carry out the required repair work to seal any leaks you find.
  3. Carefully open the adapter on the tester - the system is pressurized.
