Installing Oil Tank
WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2013 Porsche 911, 2012 Porsche 911, 2011 Porsche 911, 2010 Porsche 911, and 2009 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Fit oil tank.
- 1.1. Screw in M8 x 30 Torx screw -1- on the oil tank (flywheel side).
- 1.2. Screw in two M8 x 35 Torx screws -1- on the holders on the camshaft-housing cover on cylinder bank 4-6. Screw on the lock nut at the upper threaded joint.
- Connect feed line between the oil tank and engine.
- 2.1. Fit a new O-ring on the line connection piece.
- 2.2. Insert and tighten two Torx screws (M6 x 16).
→ Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
- Fit return line to the top of the oil tank (at the front).
- 3.1. Screw on union nut (a/f 32) -2- on the tank.
- 3.2. Tighten the union nut. Always counter at the hexagon on the oil tank -3-
when doing this.
→ Tightening torque: 60 Nm (44 ft. lb.)
- 3.3. Connect cable plug for oil level sensor -1- .
- Connect lines to the oil tank at the side.
- 4.1. Slide on connecting line for the oil module -4- and close the large spring band clamp.
- 4.2. Slide on connecting line for the rubber sleeve on the throttle housing -3- and close the large spring band clamp.
- 4.3. Fit oil line with a union nut (a/f 32) -2-
. Tighten the nut. Always counter at the hexagon on the oil tank when doing this.
→ Tightening torque: 60 Nm (44 ft. lb.)
- 4.4. Slide on connecting line for the resonance tube -1- and close the small spring band clamp.
- Secure the oil filler tube.
- 5.1. Fit clamping bow -2-
and secure with the M6 collar nut -1-
.
→ Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
- 5.1. Fit clamping bow -2-
and secure with the M6 collar nut -1-
