WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 9 other vehicles, including the 2013 Porsche 911, 2012 Porsche 911, 2011 Porsche 911, 2010 Porsche 911, and 2009 Porsche 911. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
Hot components
- Risk of burns
→ Let hot components cool down.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
Information
Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:
- Torx screws: (E..) for external Torx, (T..) for internal Torx.
- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)
Installation position of threaded plug -1- on turbo engine:
- Unscrew aluminum threaded plug (M14 x 1.5, hexagon socket a/f 5) on cylinder head 4-6.
- Fit adapter No. 19 (a/f 19) -1-
with the old sealing ring for the threaded plug to the test connection for cylinder head 4-6.
- 2.1. Attach connection line -2- of the test pressure gauge to the adapter.
- PIWIS Tester II 9818
must be connected to the vehicle. Select Oil temperature in the actual values.
Information
- An engine oil temperature of at least 90° Celsius is required in order to check the oil pressure correctly.
- The following tools are approved for checking engine oil pressure.
- Oil Pressure Tester VAG 1342 WE 1068
- Oil Pressure Tester OP 85 WE 1276 , Leitenberger (recommended)
- Start the engine and let it heat up until the engine oil temperature is at least 90° Celsius.
- 4.1. Read off the oil temperature on the PIWIS Tester.
- Rev to the prescribed test speed and read off the oil pressure on the pressure gauge -3-
.
Engine speed [RPM] Oil pressure p min [bar] Oil temperature t min. in °C Idle speed 1.5 ± 0.2 90 3, 000 2.4 ± 0.2 90 - Remove test tools.
- 6.1. Wrap a clean cloth around the test connection on the cylinder head to absorb drops of oil.
- Fit threaded plug (M14 x 1.5) with a new sealing ring.
→ Tightening torque: 25 Nm (19 ft. lb.)
