Installing Vibration Damper

Information 

• Replace screws for vibration damper. 
• The screw thread and crankshaft flange thread must not be greased. 
• Clean the thread on the crankshaft flange to remove grease. 

1. Position vibration damper on the crankshaft flange. Check the position of the dowel pin.
2. Fit six new external Torx screws (M8 x 1 x 25) and tighten uniformly in diagonally opposite sequence.
3. Fix vibration damper -1-  in place with locating pin 9595/1 -4-  .
   1. 3.1. Pre-tighten screws uniformly in diagonally opposite sequence according to tightening specifications.
   2. 3.2. Final tightening using special tool electronic torque wrench, 2-100 Nm/1.5-74 ftlb. 9768  .

4. Position dowel sleeve -11-  and tighten fastening screw -10 -  . Tightening torque 60 Nm (44 ftlb.)

5. Install heat shield on the engine carrier.
   1. 5.1. Position heat shield and screw in and tighten three external Torx screws (M6 x 12).

      Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
