Installing Flywheel
- Check that the through-bores on the hub of the flywheel are flush with the screw heads. WARNING: Caustic fluids
- Danger of chemical burns
→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.
→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
- Remove protective wax on new parts with acetone or solvent naphtha.
- Fit two centering pins 9321 -1-
with M10 thread on the crankshaft flange by screwing them in by one to two turns only (caution: fine thread!).
Recommendation: Screw in one centering pin next to the dowel pin.

Before re-installing the flywheel, clean the friction surface of the flywheel using a clean, lint-free cloth soaked in acetone or solvent naphtha).

- Check the diaphragm spring on the flywheel for mechanical damage before installing it.
- A damaged flywheel must not be installed!
- Fit flywheel -1-
over the centering pins -2-
at the dowel pin on the crankshaft and push it onto the crankshaft flange.
- 4.1. Fit ten new screws and tighten uniformly in diagonally opposite sequence.
- Tighten screws uniformly and in diagonally opposite sequence to the prescribed tightening torque.
Tool recommendation: Torque/torque angle screw tool WE 1440 .
Initial tightening 25 Nm (19 ftlb.)
Torque angle 120°
- Initial tightening to the specified toque
- Final tightening torque angle
