Installing Center Coolant Pipe
WARNING:
Caustic fluids
- Danger of chemical burns
→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.
→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
- Guide in coolant pipe from the front.
Information
- Check O-rings on the plug-in couplings and replace them if necessary.
- Clean plug connection and coolant hoses before assembly.
- Coat O-rings and coolant hoses with Kluber Plus Gel (Part No. 000.043.205.93).
- Remove stoppers before fitting the coolant lines and hoses.
- Connect coolant hoses.
- 2.1. Slide the clamp onto the coolant pipe and close it -A- .
- 2.2. Connect hose connections to the coolant pipe -B- and secure them with the clamps.
- Fit plastic holder -1-
for coolant pipes -arrow-

- 3.1. Clip plastic holder into the aluminum strut on the reinforcement plate.
- 3.2. Clip in vent line.
- Connect plug connection for temperature sensor -arrow- until it engages securely.
- Install brace plate.
- 5.1. Place brace plate -1- in installation position.
- 5.2. Screw in six hexagon-head bolts (M10 x 40) -2-
on the brace plate and tighten to the specified tightening torque.
→ Tightening torque: 65 Nm (48 ftlb.)
- Install floorpan reinforcement.
- 6.1. Place floorpan reinforcement -1- in installation position.
- 6.2. Screw in four hexagon-head bolts (M10 x 70) -3- on the floorpan reinforcement and tighten to the specified tightening torque.
- 6.3. Clip plastic holders -2- for TPM control unit, coolant pipes and coolant vent line into the reinforcement.
- 6.4. Clip in vent line.
- Install front-axle support.
- 7.1. Engage the retaining straps for the fuel tank on the front-axle cross member and swivel the front-axle support -1- up.
- 7.2. Screw in six M10 fastening nuts -2-
for the front-axle support.
→ Tightening torque: 65 Nm (48 ftlb.)
- 7.3. Screw in both hexagon-head bolts (M6 x 12) -3- for the center coolant pipes. Tightening torque 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
