Removing Coolant Regulator Housing
WARNING:
Caustic fluids
- Danger of chemical burns
→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.
→ Wear personal protective gear.
→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.
→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.
- Pull off coolant hose -1-
at the left-hand side of the engine compartment.
- 1.1. Remove spring clamp -2- and pull coolant hose out of the coolant regulator housing.
- 1.2. Re-fit spring clamp.
- 1.3. Check O-ring on the coolant hose and replace it if necessary.
- Remove coolant pipe -1-
for the thermal management bypass valve.
Collect emerging coolant in a clean container.
- 2.1. Remove screw -2- .
- 2.2. Open the spring band clamp -3- and pull off coolant hose -4- .
- 2.3. Pull coolant pipe off the coolant regulator housing.
- 2.4. Replace O-rings.
- Remove screws securing coolant pipe to coolant pump and coolant pump holder.
- 3.1. Unscrew one screw -1- on the coolant pump holder.
- 3.2. Unscrew three screws -2- on the coolant pipe.
- Remove coolant pipe -1-
at the coolant regulator housing and remove the housing.
- 4.1. Unscrew screws -2 + 3- on the housing.
- 4.2. Unscrew screw -2- on the high-pressure pump heat protection panel.
- Pull coolant pipes off the coolant regulator housing.
- 5.1. Pull off coolant pipe at the side -1- .
- 5.2. Pull the housing to the rear in order to remove the front coolant pipe -2- .
- 5.3. Replace O-rings -3 + 4- and molded seal -5- .
