Checking For Coolant Leaks

WARNING: Hot fluid
  • Danger of scalding

→ Let the fluid cool down.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

WARNING: Caustic fluids
  • Danger of chemical burns

→ Avoid contact with caustic fluid.

→ Wear personal protective gear.

→ Ensure that there is good ventilation.

→ If you do come into contact, wash off immediately with plenty of warm water and contact a doctor if necessary.

  1. Check the cooling system for leaks.
    1. 1.1. Screw off cap on the service tray.
    2. 1.2. Fit adapter K65 -1-  on the service tray connection and connect cooling system tester WE 1069 -2-  .
    3. 1.3. Create a test pressure of 1.8 bar (absolute) using a pump.
    4. 1.4. Visually check all hose and line connections for leaks.

  2. Carry out the required repair work to seal any leaks you find.
  3. Release pressure on the tester and screw off adapter.
  4. Fit cap on the service tray.
