Securing Rear-Axle Cross Member
Information
- Use an auxiliary tool (stud or old fastening screw with the screw head cut off) to install the rear-axle cross member on the body. This is required so that the fastening screws are not screwed in crooked, thereby causing irreparable damage to the aluminum thread (in the body).
- Observe specified tightening torques + torque angles.
- The screws on the rear-axle cross member must be replaced.
- Fit rear-axle cross member on the body. Use an auxiliary tool.
Initial tightening 90 Nm (67 ftlb.) Final tightening +90°
- 1.1. Screw auxiliary tool into the aluminum thread on the body.
- 1.2. Fit rear-axle cross member and fix in place with a screw.
- 1.3. Remove auxiliary tool and fit the second screw.
- 1.4. Repeat procedure on the other side.
- Fit connecting link or PDCC actuator on the anti-roll bar.
