Preliminary Work

Information 

For all assembly work, observe the separate references for vehicles with PDCC.

1. Place cover in service position.

   Unclip cover at the left and right, raise it and engage the yellow support in the luggage compartment lid -1-  .

2. For all-wheel drive:  Before raising the vehicle, loosen the drive shaft mounting at the wheel side. Get another mechanic to help by operating the brake.
3. Raise the vehicle.

   → 4X00IN LIFTING THE VEHICLE .

4. Remove wheel.

   → 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL .

5. For all-wheel drive:  Carefully press the drive shaft journal out of the wheel hub (approx. 10 mm) until the shaft can be moved by hand.

   Use puller set Nr.87-1 Pos.1  together with pull stud Nr.87-1 Pos.2  to do this.

6. Remove brake calliper (do not open the brake system) and suspend it in the wheel arch.

   → 473919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING BRAKE CALLIPER .

   → 473919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT PDCC BRAKE CALLIPER .

7. Remove brake disc.

   → 465019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT BRAKE DISC .

   → 465119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT PDCC BRAKE DISC .
