Subsequent Work

  1. Install cardan shaft.
    • 390219 Removing and installing cardan shaft.  
  2. Check oil for front final drive and top up if necessary.
    • 399035 Checking and topping up oil for front final drive.  

      • Information 

    • The electromagnetic clutch in the final drive is classified (letter A-L on the final drive housing).  
    • The letters are engraved at the seventh position from the left. Use a magnifying glass to determine the exact letter if necessary. 
    • This must be taken into consideration in PIWIS Tester II when replacing the clutch, final drive or control unit.  
  3. If the final drive or electromagnetic clutch were replaced, the all-wheel drive (PTM) control unit must be re-programmed and the "classification letter" for this must be entered in the PIWIS Tester.
    • 399519 Removing and installing control unit for all-wheel drive (PTM).  
    1. 3.1 This letter is shown as the seventh character of the transmission number in the identification field -1-on the transmission.

      2. Transmission number: Z97521XNNNNN, where X = classification (letter A-L), N = consecutive production number! 

  4. Install underbody covers.
    • 519219 Removing and installing cover for front underbody.  
    • 519319 Removing and installing cover for center underbody.  
    • 519419 Removing and installing cover for rear underbody.
