Removing Cardan Flange

  1. Close electric handbrake.
  2. Loosen and unscrew collar nut -2-  for the cardan flange -1-  .
    1. 2.1. Replace collar nut.

      Information 

      • The cardan flange is connected to the pinion shaft of the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) with very narrow tolerances. 
      • Increased removal and installation forces must be overcome when removing and installing the cardan flange. 
      • Align tools perfectly in order to avoid tension and eliminate the possibility of the tool slipping off. 
  3. Remove cardan flange -1-  .
    1. 3.1. Pressure piece 9790 -2-  and three-arm puller: span width 100 mm, span depth 100 mm Nr.112-1 -3-  must be secured to the cardan flange.
    2. 3.2. Pull cardan flange off the pinion shaft by turning the hexagon -4-  clockwise.
