Installing Cardan Flange

Information 

• The cardan flange is connected to the pinion shaft of the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) with very narrow tolerances. 
• Increased removal and installation forces must be overcome when removing and installing the cardan flange. 
• Align tools perfectly in order to avoid tension and eliminate the possibility of the tool slipping off. 

1. Fit cardan flange -1-  .
   1. 1.1. Degrease the pinion shaft journal (splines, thread) and halfshaft flange splines.
   2. 1.2. Heat cardan flange to approx. 120 °C.
   3. 1.3. Position cardan flange on the splines and tap it in using a socket-wrench insert Nr.64 -2-  until the cardan flange is flush.

2. Screw on and tighten new collar nut -2-  .
   1. 2.1. Initial tightening for set torque:
