Installing Cover

Fit new O-ring on the cover.
1. 1.1. Grease O-ring with a light coating of transmission oil or Kluber Syntheso Glep.
Install cover for final drive.
Be careful of the O-ring during installation!
1. 2.1. Insert cover for final drive on the transmission and position it using centering pins 9321 .
2. 2.2. Screw in screws on the cover and tighten evenly.
3. 2.3. Tighten screws uniformly in diagonally opposite sequence.
  Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.) +2 Nm (+1.5 ftlb.)
Install new sealing ring.
→ 395955 REPLACING SEALING RING FOR FRONT HALFSHAFT FLANGE .
1. 3.1. Grease inside of new sealing ring with Liquid Moly PU53/WDR.
Replace circlip for halfshaft flange.
1. 4.1. To do this, clamp the flange -1- in the vice with a screw -2- and press out the old circlip using the new circlip -3- .
2. 4.2. Grease circlip for easier fitting.

Install halfshaft flange with a new circlip.
1. 5.1. Tap in halfshaft flange using a rubber hammer -arrow- .
