Installing Housing Neck
Information
- The aluminum screws for the housing neck on the transmission must be replaced.
- The aluminum screws must be tightened using the yield-point-controlled tightening method.
- The special tool: Electronic torque wrench 9768 is used for this purpose.
- To ensure that the screws are tightened uniformly, the corresponding tightening setting "light, medium or hard" must always be used.
- Install housing neck -1-
with a new seal -2-
and new aluminum screws.
- 1.1. Fit new screws uniformly and then tighten using the yield-point-controlled method.
Initial tightening 6 Nm (4.5 ftlb.)
- 1.1. Fit new screws uniformly and then tighten using the yield-point-controlled method.
- Push sealing ring -1- onto pressure piece 9738 -2- and fit it on the housing neck -3- .
- Tap sealing ring in as far as it will go using pressure piece -1- and a plastic hammer -2- .
- Install long halfshaft flange.
