Installing Cross Member

Information 

• Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle. 
• Naturally, some steps also have to be performed on the opposite side of the vehicle as well. 

1. Apply adhesive to the cross member and to the longitudinal member.

   Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. → Application Depth: 0.5 mm 

   Working with body structural adhesive → WM 5X00IN WORKING WITH BODY STRUCTURAL ADHESIVE

2. Apply adhesive to the body.

   Apply adhesive evenly over the entire bonding surface. → Application Depth: 0.5 mm

   1. 2.1. Also apply a bead of adhesive to the front edge. → Application Depth: 5 mm 
3. Position the cross member using the straightening system.
4. Screw in self-tapping screws → lens-head screw 999.073.917.01 and tighten to the specified tightening torque. → Tightening Torque: 6 Nm (4.5 ft. lbs.) +/-1 Nm (+/-0.5 ft. lbs.)
