Removing Rear Brake Disc

  1. PIWIS Tester II 9818  must be connected and started.
    1. 1.1. Select parking brake.
    2. 1.2. Select Maintenance/repairs.
    3. 1.3. Move to installation position.
  2. Disconnect the plug connection for the brake pad wear indicator and detach it from the holder.

    Information 

    • Do not open the brake hydraulic system (brake line remains connected). 
  3. Detach brake calliper at the wheel bearing housing (wheel carrier) -arrows-  and hang it at a suitable place in the wheel housing.

    If the edge of the brake disc is protruding at the outer diameter, first reset the brake pads slightly and evenly.

    → 474119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING REAR BRAKE CALLIPER .

  4. Remove brake disc.
    1. 4.1. Remove fastening screws -arrows-  and take off brake disc.

      Information 

      • Central bolts (911 GT3): The wheel adapter pins do not have to be removed in order to remove the brake disc. 
    2. 4.2. 911 Turbo with central bolts:  Remove five wheel adapters and remove the brake disc.
      1. Fastening screws (5x)
      2. Wheel adapter (5x)
      3. Brake disc
      4. Wheel hub
