Installing Hinge For Convertible-Top Compartment Lid

Information 

Check that the water drip pan is seated correctly close to the rear water drain.

1. Prime the sealing surfaces of the hinge on the body using a corrosion protection touch-up stick.
2. Position the hinge at the previously marked area and tighten fastening nuts and fastening screw.
3. Install hydraulic cylinder for convertible-top compartment lid.
4. Guide in wiring harness for convertible-top compartment lid.
5. Check water drain on the water drip pan.
6. Align trim panel for convertible top compartment.
7. Install convertible-top compartment lid. → INSTALLING CONVERTIBLE-TOP COMPARTMENT LID  .
8. Check gap dimensions for convertible-top compartment lid and correct them by adjusting the hinge if necessary.

   Gap dimension from side panel to convertible-top compartment lid (A) Gap dimension 3.9 mm +1 mm - 0.7 mm 

   Gap dimension from side panel/spoiler to convertible-top compartment lid (B) Gap dimension 4.5 mm +/-0.8 mm

9. Tighten fastening nuts and fastening screw to the specified torque.

   Fastening nut on convertible-top compartment lid hinge Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.) 

   Fastening screw on convertible-top compartment lid hinge Tightening torque 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
