Removing Lumbar Support

Information 

The following repair instructions describe the procedure for removing and installing the lumbar support with air cushion for backrest. For vehicles without air cushion for backrest, skip to the relevant instructions.

  1. Remove air cushion for backrest.
    1. 1.1. Press the pins -2-  on the two expanding clips -1-  through -arrow A-  and remove expanding clips -arrow B-  .

    2. 1.2. Loosen air cushion for backrest -3-  (-arrow C-  ).
  2. Disconnect air connection line to air cushion for seat.
    1. 2.1. Disconnect connection coupling for air connection line -1-  on the underside of the seat -inset-  .

    2. 2.2. Release air connection line from the retaining clip -2-  and feed it out (-arrow-  ).
  3. Remove retainer springs -1-  for lumbar support -2-  .

  4. Disconnect electric plug connection for control valves -1-  (-arrows-  ).

  5. Remove tie-wrap -1-  .

  6. Disconnect electric plug connection -2-  on the lumbar-support motor -1-  (-arrow A-  ).

  7. Unclip lumbar-support motor -1-  and pull it up and out -arrow B-  .
  8. Lift lumbar support up (-arrows-  ) and remove it from the bracket -1-  .
