Removing Rear Lid

Information 

• The number of fastening screws, fixing clips, plug connections, holders and trim panels can vary depending on equipment. 
• The illustrations for removing and installing the drive mechanism are shown only on one equipment variant and may differ from the actual equipment variant. 
• Some steps must be carried out automatically. 
• Some of the repair illustrations show only one side of the vehicle.

1. Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1-  (-a-  ).
2. Release electric plug connection -2-  (-b-  ) and pull it to the rear and off the retaining clip -3-  .
3. Pull wire harness and rubber sleeve through in a downward direction and pull out the wiring harness -arrow-  .

4. To make it easier to guide the cable back, secure a suitable aid to the connector and pull it out with the wiring harness.
5. Secure aid for guiding cable back on the lid.

6. A second person should hold the rear lid -2-  to prevent it falling shut.
7. Unscrew and remove fastening screws -1-  .
8. Remove rear lid -2-  .
