Preparing A-Pillar

  1. Fit in new part and secure it to the body. Check gap dimensions. → WM 5X00IN GAP DIMENSIONS (EXCEPT CARRERA "EDITION", CARRERA CABRIOLET "EDITION", CARRERA 4 "EDITION", TARGA 4, TARGA 4S, TARGA 4 GTS, CARRERA 4 CABRIOLET "EDITION") .
    1. 1.1. Cut new part.
    2. 1.2. Make cut through the A-pillar and body in the overlap area.
    3. 1.3. Drill holes for rivets in area -A-  . → Diameter: 6.6 mm 
    4. 1.4. Drill holes for plug welding using inert gas in area -B-  . → Diameter: 8.0 mm

  2. Prepare the marked connection areas for bonding and welding.

    Red Plug-welding/apply a full weld using inert gas without bonding
    Green Bonding + resistance spot-welding
    Yellow Bonding + riveting
