Preliminary Work

  1. If a new control unit has to be installed, the values/coding must be read out using PIWIS Tester II 9818  prior to removing the "old" control unit. → 577355 REPLACING FRONT DOOR CONTROL UNIT .
  2. Disconnect battery ground strap. →
  3. Remove front door panel. → 705919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT DOOR PANEL - section on "Removing"
