Installing Optical Waveguide
NOTE:
Voltage peaks
- Risk of damage to load or to the control unit
→ Remove the ignition key and switch off load before disconnecting or removing load.
Information
- The new lines will be secured to the fastening points for the old lines.
- The old wire harness remains installed in the vehicle.
- The old wire harness will only be disconnected/unplugged directly at the connected components.
Information
- When installing the wire harness, make sure the insulation of the line is not damaged.

Before routing a new optical waveguide:
- Visually check the locks, connector housing and contacts for damage.
- Replace damaged parts if necessary.
- Cut off the connectors with the optical contacts of the damaged optical waveguide, insulate them and tie the damaged optical waveguide to the main wire harness.
- Route the new optical waveguide -1- along the main wire harness, guide it through the existing cable ducts and tie it to the main wire harness using tie-wraps.
- Plug optical waveguide connector -1- into the electric connector -2- for PCM -A- .
