Installing Wire Harness For Engine
- First lay the wire harness loosely on the engine.
Check that the wire harness is positioned correctly: The vehicle/engine connection point as well as the plug connection for the DME control unit are in the rear of the engine compartment, on the right in direction of travel.
- When laying the wire harness, make sure that the individual wire harnesses do not become twisted or entangled.
- Loosely screw in fastening screws for the cable ducts in the cylinder heads.
- Plug in electric plug connections and clip the individual wire harnesses in place.
When doing so, proceed in reverse order to removal:
- 4.1. Insert plug connections for top of engine .
- 4.2. Plug in plug connections for bottom of engine .
- Tighten fastening screws for the cable ducts.
→ Tightening torque: 23 Nm (17 ftlb.)
- Tighten fastening nut used to secure electric line to the starter.
→ Tightening torque: 6.5 Nm (5 ftlb.)
- Tighten fastening screws for the ground straps.
→ Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ftlb.)
