Loosening Main Wire Harness In Left Roof Pillar Area

1. Plug connections for left antenna amplifier (4 connectors)
2. Plug connection for left sun visor
3. Plug connection for rain sensor
4. Plug connection for interior mirror
5. Plug connection for interior light
6. Plug connection for GPS antenna
7. Plug connection for GSM antenna (radio antenna)
8. Plug connection for right sun visor
9. Plug connection for rear wiper motor
10. Plug connection for heated rear window
11. Plug connection for roof assembly

→ The main wire harness contains all airbag lines, antenna lines and optical waveguides.

→ The main wire harness must not be separated and is always replaced as a complete wire harness when carrying out extensive repairs.

→ If individual lines are damaged, shut off these lines and install new lines. Lay the new lines along the main wire harness and secure them to the main wire harness.

Information 

Always comply with the regulations for handling ESD-sensitive components!

• Assembly work may only be carried out if the mechanic is wearing the working clothes and shoes approved by Porsche. 
• The new part must only be removed from the ESD (electrostatic discharge) protective packaging just before installation and at the position at which the part is to be installed. 
• Never touch the electric pins and plug contacts. 

A-pillar area 

1. Disconnect plug connections for left antenna amplifier. → 918419 REMOVING AND INSTALLING ANTENNA AMPLIFIER
2. Unclip and disconnect plug connection for interior rear-view mirror. → 682719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING INTERIOR REAR-VIEW MIRROR
3. Unclip and disconnect plug connection for GPS antenna. → 911319 REMOVING AND INSTALLING GPS ANTENNA
4. Unclip and disconnect plug connection for radio antenna. → 914719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING RADIO ANTENNA
5. Disconnect wire harness for rain sensor. → 976919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WIRE HARNESS FOR INTERIOR LIGHT + RAIN SENSOR 
6. Disconnect main wire harness in the A-pillar area.
   1. 6.1. Loosen upper fixing clips -1-  at the side on the A-pillar.

   2. 6.2. Loosen upper fixing clips -1-  on the roof frame.

   3. 6.3. Unclip cable guide -2-  .
   4. 6.4. Disconnect ground cable -3-  .

      C-pillar area 

7. Disconnect plug connection for rear window wiper. → 921555 REPLACING WIPER MOTOR
8. Disconnect plug connection for roof assembly. → Removing Sliding-Roof Frame
9. Loosen mounting for main wire harness in C-pillar area.

   1. 9.1. Pull off plug connection -1-  for heated rear window.
   2. 9.2. Unclip fixing clips -2-  at the side of the C-pillar, check for damage and replace them if necessary.
   3. 9.3. Disconnect cable guide -3-  on the roof.
