Installing Rear Window

CAUTION: Danger of material damage if specified curing time of adhesive is not observed! In order to ensure that the bonded joint is sufficiently strong, the following conditions must be adhered to:

The vehicle must not be used until the curing time has elapsed.
Curing time: 2 hours
Temperature: at least 10 °C
Fixing time: approx. 1 hour

Information

The adhesive has an open time of -15 min- , which means that the adhesive must be applied and the component affixed within this period of time.
To ensure that the substance is completely mixed, apply a 30-mm long bead of fresh adhesive to a piece of cardboard before processing.

Information

Check stop bits.
Replace damaged or missing stop bits.

Prepare 2-component adhesive for processing.
Information
- When applying the adhesive, it is essential to ensure that the adhesive bead overlaps by approx. 30 mm at the beginning and at the end.
Apply adhesive to the rear window.
1. 2.1. Using the bonding gun, apply the 2-component adhesive to the rear window along the preliminary coat or on the primer in the form of a triangular bead measuring -X = approx. 15 mm- .

  Information
  - Two persons are needed to insert, position and secure the rear window.
Insert rear window into the body.
1. 3.1. Affix suction cups to the rear window and insert the rear window into the window aperture. Position the rear window on the lower edge -arrows A- and fit it -arrow B- .

Adjust gap dimension of rear window.
1. 4.1. Adjust gap dimension -X- by moving the rear window. → Gap dimension: 3.2 mm

2. 4.2. Remove suction cups.
3. 4.3. Secure the upper edge of the rear window with adhesive tape -1- to prevent it from slipping.

Clean visible areas.
1. 5.1. Adhesive that has oozed out must be removed immediately and the affected visible areas must be cleaned using cleaning agent.
