  1. If the control unit has to be replaced, the values must be read out beforehand using PIWIS Tester II 9818  . → WM 917719 REMOVING AND INSTALLING MULTI-FUNCTION CONTROL UNIT 
  2. Remove steering-column switch. → Removing Steering-Column Switch
