Preliminary Work

  1. If the steering wheel electronics control unit has to be replaced, the values must be read out beforehand using PIWIS Tester II 9818  . → 916255 REPLACING CONTROL UNIT FOR STEERING WHEEL ELECTRONICS 
  2. Remove steering wheel. → Removing Steering Wheel
  3. Remove trim panel (steering-column switch). → Removing Trim Panel (Steering-Column Switch)
  4. Remove steering-column switch. → Removing Steering-Column Switch
