Removing Charge-Air Cooler

  1. Remove accessories on charge-air cooler.

    1. 1  - Charge-air coolers, left and right
    2. 3  - Pressure hose, left
    3. 4  - Pressure hose, right
    4. 5  - Ambient air line
    5. 6  - Ambient air line
    6. 8  - Connection between charge-air cooler and ambient air line
    7. 10  - Charge air line, left
    8. 11  - Charge air line, right
    1. 1.1. Remove charge air line -10 and 11-  between the charge-air cooler and air box for the throttle valve at the charge-air cooler on both sides.
    2. 1.2. Raise the vehicle.

      → 4X00IN LIFTING THE VEHICLE

    3. 1.3. Remove pressure hose -3 and 4-  on the charge-air cooler on both sides.
    4. 1.4. Remove hose from ambient air valve -8-  on the charge-air cooler on both sides.
    5. 1.5. Remove hose for ambient air valve -5 and 6-  to the suction hose from the turbocharger on both sides.
      1. 1.5.1. Secure the ambient air valve at the side on both sides.
    6. 1.6. Remove the air guide for the air cleaner housing at both sides.

      → 243619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT AIR GUIDE AT THE SIDE

      1. 1.6.1. First open the retaining clip on the front wire harness on the right side and remove the wire harness from the holder.
  2. Remove fastening screws on charge-air cooler.

    1. 2.1. Remove the two fastening screws -3 and 4-  on the charge-air cooler at the lock carrier.
    2. 2.2. Remove fastening screws -6-  between the charge-air cooler and wing.
  3. Remove charge-air cooler to the side.
