Preliminary Work

→ Read specific safety information for the press.

→ Check that the press is working perfectly before use, particularly the safety components.

Information 

Do not raise the wheel suspension higher than the normal vehicle position. When raising the suspension, use a suitable intermediate layer made of hard rubber. Do not move the vehicle if drive shafts have not been fitted and tightened.

1. Remove the relevant hub cap using puller hook 9229/1  and loosen axle nut (lock nut) -1-  before raising the vehicle. Operate the brake while doing this (2 mechanics required).

2. Raise the vehicle → 4X00IN LIFTING THE VEHICLE .
3. Remove front wheel → 440519 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL .
4. Remove brake calliper and hang it at a suitable position in the wheel housing → 473919 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT BRAKE CALLIPER .
5. Remove brake disc → 465019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT BRAKE DISC → 465119 REMOVING AND INSTALLING FRONT BRAKE DISC (PCCB) .
6. Remove brake cover plate.
7. Remove wheel bearing housing and set it down → 405019 REMOVING AND INSTALLING WHEEL BEARING HOUSING (WHEEL CARRIER) .
