Installing Cover For Rear Seat

Information 

• Always replace metal cushion clips. 
• Reuse plastic cushion clips. Replace defective cushion clips. 

1. Fit cushion clips on the cushion carrier.
   1. 1.1. For seats with and without seat heating:
      1. 1.1.1. Place cover -9-  on the padding -arrow B-  and align with the contour of the padding.
      2. 1.1.2. Secure the cover -9-  using cushion clip pliers Nr.130  and secure new metal cushion clips to the padding in the sequence shown -a to c-  .

   2. 1.2. For seats with seat heating and air conditioning:

      1. 1.2.1. Place cover -9-  on the padding -arrow B-  and align with the contour of the padding.
      2. 1.2.2. Secure the cover -9-  using cushion clip pliers Nr.130  and secure new metal cushion clips to the padding at the circular marks -a and c-  .
      3. 1.2.3. Engage the cover -9-  on the padding using plastic cushion clips -b-  .
      4. 1.2.4. Fit the cover in the sequence shown -a to c-  .
2. Fit tie-wraps, lines and connectors on the underside of the seat.
   1. 2.1. For seats with seat heating:
      1. 2.1.1. Guide electric line through and affix the material cover. Use new adhesive if necessary.
      2. 2.1.2. Fit tie-wraps -8-  for securing the electric line.

      4. 2.1.4. Plug electric plug connections for the heating elements into the side bolsters.

   2. 2.2. For seats with seat heating and air conditioning:
      1. 2.2.1. Guide electric line through and affix the material cover. Use new adhesive if necessary.
      2. 2.2.2. Plug in electric plug connection for the suction fan.

      3. 2.2.3. Plug in electric plug connection for heating elements for the lower leg support.

      4. 2.2.4. Attach tie-wrap -8-  for securing the electric line.

3. Fit cover on the underside of the seat.
   1. 3.1. For seats with and without seat heating:
      1. 3.1.1. Guide Velcro fasteners -2-  at the rear left and right out through the seat cushion and secure them.

      2. 3.1.2. Engage seat cover hooks -1-  in the metal frame.

      3. 3.1.3. Install seat adjustment switch and cover. → 727619 REMOVING AND INSTALLING SWITCH FOR REAR SEAT ADJUSTMENT
   2. 3.2. Seats with seat-surface extension:
      1. 3.2.1. Guide Velcro fasteners -2-  at the rear left and right in through the seat cushion and secure them.

      2. 3.2.2. Pull seat cover over the side bolsters and forward over the cushion for seat-surface extension.
      3. 3.2.3. Engage seat cover hooks -7-  in the metal frame.

      4. 3.2.4. Engage seat cover at the front using clips -4-  .

      5. 3.2.5. Engage two seat cover holders at the left and right.
      6. 3.2.6. Engage rubber tensioners -3-  at the left and right into the bracket.

      7. 3.2.7. Fit tie-wraps -5-  and one (metal) cushion clip -6-  .
