Replacing Wheel Bearing Housing
- Use puller set Nr.87-1 Pos.1
to press the drive shaft out of the wheel hub. → Pressing in drive shaft

- Grease the splines with a little Optimoly TA aluminum paste and fit the drive shaft into the new wheel bearing housing. When doing this, press the inner joint together fully.
- Screw on the axle nut to prevent the shaft from slipping out.
- Tighten drive shaft.
- 4.1. Tighten the drive shaft to setting 1 "before installation" to Tightening torque 130 Nm (96 ftlb.)
. To do this, place the wheel carrier with the drive shaft and countering tool (shop-made) on the floor (do not damage the brake cover plate) and tighten the drive shaft. 2. second mechanic is required! → Tightening drive shaft
- 4.2. The second tightening setting is applied when the wheel bearing housing is installed! Tightening torque 460 Nm (340 ftlb.)
