Removing Disc Brake Pads

  1. Fastening screw for EPB actuator
  2. EPB actuator
  3. Sealing ring
  4. Fastening screw securing brake calliper to calliper carrier
  5. Contact for brake pad wear indicator
  6. Brake calliper
  7. Calliper carrier
  8. Brake pads
  9. Pad retaining bracket
  10. Fastening screw securing brake calliper to wheel bearing housing
  1. Disconnect plug connection -1  - for the actuator.

  2. Release and disconnect electric plug connection -1  - on the speed sensor.

  3. Unclip brake hose -1  - and electric line -2  - from the combination holder -3  - on the wheel bearing housing.

  4. Loosen contact for brake pad wear indicator -1  - at the holder -2  - and pull it out of the brake calliper -arrow  -.

  5. Unscrew fastening screws -2  - for the brake calliper on the calliper carrier. Counter at the guide pin at the same time.

    Mounting for brake calliper 

    NOTE:
    • Do not leave the brake calliper with calliper carrier hanging at the brake hose. The weight must not put excessive strain on the brake hose  .
    • A damaged brake hose must be replaced  .
    • The brakes and electric parking brake (EPB) must not be actuated when the brake calliper is removed  .
  6. Remove brake calliper.
  7. Remove disc brake pads and pad retaining brackets to the side -arrows  -.
