Disconnecting the battery

WARNING: Static battery charge

Battery can explode
Electrical discharges

→ Do not rub the battery with a dry cloth.

NOTE:

Switch off all loads and remove the ignition key.

Do not disconnect the battery while the engine is running.
Disconnect and re-connect battery with extreme caution.

NOTE:

The battery is located in the luggage compartment under the storage floor.

Switch off ignition and pull remote control out of ignition lock.
Switch off electrical loads.
Remove luggage compartment floor.
Remove collapsible wheel, if necessary.
Lift carpet -1- .
Disengage cover -2- (-arrows- ) and fold it forward.

Risk of short circuit! Disconnect the ground line at the battery!
1. 7.1. Open cover -1- on the negative terminal.
2. 7.2. Loosen terminal clamp -2- for the ground line from the negative terminal.
3. 7.3. Insulate terminal clamp or route ground line to prevent any contact with the negative terminal!
