Removing Headlights

Voltage peaks
- Risk of damage to load or to the control unit
→ Remove the ignition key and switch off load before disconnecting or removing load.

Risk of damage to headlights due to chafing and excessive temperatures.
Headlights must not be covered when they are switched on, e.g. by wing protector or film.
Switch off ignition.

- When working, carrying out tests or adjusting headlights on the Cayenne or when it is in the workshop, a battery charging unit with a rated current of at least 40 A must be connected .
- As soon as the vehicle is unlocked, e.g. the vehicle is in the workshop or salesroom, it must be trickle-charged with a battery charging device .
- Open the front lid.
- Mask the front apron on the underside of the headlight with approx. 5 cm of wide adhesive tape.
- Remove headlight.
- 3.1. Take socket wrench out of the tool kit.
- 3.2. Fit socket wrench onto the headlight locking mechanism and turn it clockwise -arrow- on the left headlight (in direction of travel) and anti-clockwise -arrow- on the right headlight until the headlight unlocks perceptibly and with an audible click.
- 3.3. Then continue turning until the headlight is pressed out of the wing.
- Disconnect plug connection.
- 4.1. Pull the headlight approx. 10 cm forward out of the wing.
- 4.2. Release plug connection -arrow- , disconnect connector -arrow- and pull the headlight out fully.
