Removing Engine Carrier

Information
Specifications for wrench sizes (a/f specifications) for screw heads are described as follows:
- Torx screws: (E..) for external Torx, (T..) for internal Torx.
- Hexagon-head bolts (internal and external hexagon): Wrench size (a/f)
Component overview of engine mounting:
- Engine carrier
- Holder for rear silencer
- External Torx screw (E14), M10 x 80
- External Torx screw (E14), M10 x 70
- Adapter
- Active engine mounting (standard for GT3 RS, individual option for GT3)
- External Torx screw, M8 x 60
- Hydraulic mount (standard for GT3)
- External Torx screw (E12), M8 x 60
- Hexagon collar nut (a/f 18), M12 x 1.5
- Loosen vacuum line mounting for the exhaust valves on the engine carrier.
- 1.1. Unscrew three external Torx screws (E10, M6 x 16) and leave the line hanging.
Information
- It may only be supported over a large area at the oil pan.
- Localized loading is not permitted.
- Support engine with transmission and unit jack Junior Jack 2.0 WE 1223 and GA passenger car transmission plate WE 1224 at the oil pan.
- Unscrew two collar nuts (a/f 18, M12 x 1.5) on the threaded bolt for the engine mounting from underneath.
Information
- When lowering, the engine must not rest on the rear axle cross member.
- Lower the engine.
- Loosen four external Torx screws (E14, M10) on the engine carrier.
- 5.1. Two M10 x 70 screws at the top.
- 5.2. Two M10 x 80 screws at the bottom.
- Remove holder for rear silencer together with the engine carrier.
- Clean the engine carrier carefully and check for damage (cracks, deformation).
- If the engine carrier is damaged, replace it.
