Installing Engine Carrier

→ Secure components to prevent them from falling down.
Information
- It may only be supported over a large area at the oil pan.
- Localized loading is not permitted.
- Fit engine carrier -1-
and holder for rear silencer -2-
and secure with four external Torx screws (E14, M10).
- 1.1. Fit and tighten screws uniformly.
- 1.2. Two M10 x 70 screws at the top -4- .
- 1.3. Two M10 x 80 screws at the bottom -3- .
- 1.4. → Tightening torque: 65 Nm (48 ft. lb.)
- Raise engine into installation position with transmission jack.
- Fit M12 x 1.5 collar nuts -5-
on the threaded bolt for the engine mounting and tighten them.
→ Tightening torque: 85 Nm (63 ft. lb.)
- Transmission and unit jack Junior Jack 2.0 WE 1223 and GA passenger car transmission plate WE 1224 can now be removed from the work area.
- Secure vacuum line for the exhaust valves on the engine carrier.
- 5.1. Secure the rubberized clamps for the vacuum line with three external Torx screws (E10).
→ Tightening torque: 10 Nm (7.5 ft. lb.)
